Happy Friday Friends,
Even though January is cold and boring it’s zipping right on by. As I keep focused and busy on my dreams and goals it seems to be going well.
1. Fun Mail is the best! These arrived at my door this past month. How fun are these freeze-dried fruit pieces for your yogurt, smoothie bowls, pancakes and more!? Crunchies, have you heard of ’em? Look at all these delicious flavors. Thanks, Crunchies!
I can’t wait to open the mixed fruit variety. Which one would you be trying first?
Be sure to head over and get more ideas and a coupon if you’re visiting for the first time!
2. February feels like it’s just around the corner. And I’m getting excited. I really like Valentine’s Day and I love my birthday. It’s always a cause to celebrate, right? Even if you do appear to be getting old. Heck, I don’t care. I think I’ll always love my birthday.
Who are the special someones in your life that you are looking to celebrate this month? DaySpring has some awesome FREE ecards to send to your loved ones and don’t’ forget to check out their gift section.
3. Last night I started a book club type group at my home with some of my neighbors. We’re working through Life Giving Home book. We’re hoping to meet once a month and discuss the different topics found in the guided workbook, as it’s set up by the months of the year. I’m super excited to dig into this book and have really enjoyed what I’ve read so far. It’s a pleasure to learn and grow with other ladies. For anyone who may be interested in learning more about this, feel free to message me.
4. I’ve officially made it 25 days into ‘No-Spend January’. First thing, I’m gonna buy? A new water bottle and a shower curtain. Broken and ripped. Counting down the days. Oh, the fun things you get to spend your money sometimes when you’re adulting.
I just wanna buy fun stuff like leggings and get a manicure. Can you believe I’ve never had a manicure in all my days? Maybe that’s what I should do for my birthday this year!
5. I finally took the time to update one of my very first posts from 2013. This recipe for Chicken and Quinoa with avocado pineapple and mango is actually really good but the pictures were pathetic. So, it got some fresh new photos.
Wanna take a look back? It’s worth it to keep crafting your skill, huh? My photography definitely isn’t show-stopping but, my how I’ve grown in the last few years.
6. I got a “Just Because” card from my Mom this week. Who thinks we need more snail mail in our lives? It always cheers me up to see a hand-written note! We did this handwritten notes challenge 2 years ago and it was such a blessing to me and others.
7. I got this pretty awesome InStyle Parties Guide in the mail recently. The photos are gorgeous but what I love more than that are the great ideas for gatherings. Everything from a Cozy Dinner Party to a Woodland Baby Shower to a Beach House Lunch is included. This lovely book definitely made me want to get some gatherings on the calendar and serve up some great food and a fun time.
8. I finished one book so far this year. Present Over Perfect. Woot! And I’m working on finishing a 2nd and 3rd. I don’t even want to begin to tell you how long it took me to read this book. This is no way describes what a good/bad book it is. It just shows my lack of self-discipline over the past few months and not taking the time to sit down and read. So I’m working on that in 2018. Starting small with my goal. Finish 1 one book a month.
P.S. Just for the record, this is an outstanding book! I would ☑ recommend it and it is going on my bookshelf which means I would read it again someday. If I finish a book and it was ok but I don’t think I’ll ever read it again, then I will try to swap it on on Paperback Swap for something else I’d like to read.
Do you have reading goals for this year?
