So I’ve been thinking about getting a little more personal on the blog. I’ve spent the last year focusing on improving my food photography and researching for my latest project – Gather for Bread Shop {Opening Real Soon}.
I have so many thoughts on what to share. Things like, the books I’m currently reading, my latest gatherings, the parenting lessons I’ve learned, marriage insights, my favorite blogger’s latest recipes, posts and tips.
And if this interests you, great! We’re going to get along fabulously on Fridays. But if it doesn’t no worries. Just une back in on Monday for the next recipe post.
I’m going to give it a whirl and share a little more here on the blog besides just food. So here we go; my fabulous opinions on the following:
Fabulous Food Finds for the Next Gathering
How about this amazing double chocolate brownie cheesecake from my friend, Allie? Creamy and to-die-for.
I’m going crazy over on Pinterest with my Applauding Apples board. There’s just so many irresistible apple recipes that are catching my eye. What about this amazing caramel apple pie from my friend, Ruth @ Living Well Spending Less.
And last, but not least something new for the dinner menu. I’m loving this baked honey lemon chicken from Ashley at The Recipe Rebel.
Fabulous Books I’m Reading Right Now
1. Say Goodbye to Survival Mode
I FINALLY got myself a copy of Crystal Paine’s book, Say Goodbye to Survival Mode. It’s been on my wish-list for quite a while now. I’ve been reading Crystal’s blog, Money Saving Mom since 2011 and I just love her wisdom, her tips and her spark for life.
I’m trying not to rush through it. But I find myself wanting to just read ahead instead of slowing down and making the most it by writing down some of the suggestions. For example, writing out your day and what you typically spend your time doing.
It’s been a great read so far but I’m not allowing myself to read any further until I do that exercise. I know it will be highly beneficial to me.
I definitely recommend this book.
2. The Art of Work
This book,The Art of Work by Jeff Goins, is amazing. I’m slowly working my way through. Jeff is a gifted writer and I love his insight into finding your calling. This book is for EVERYONE. It’s not just about your job or your ministry. It’s about doing what you were meant to do.
I definitely recommend this book.
Fabulous Encouragement
This bible verse is currently sitting on my desk for the week. I’m aiming to to read it aloud every day. I try to remind myself that all I’m doing is not in vain. In my parenting, in my work, in my neighborhood. I have to remember despite the outcomes that I wasn’t expecting or the setbacks, that there is a higher purpose.
