FABULOUS MOMENTS THIS WEEK
I planted beets this time for the first year. And I’ve been a really bad gardener this year. I completely let everything go in September. I just had too much going on and I couldn’t find the time to harvest anything. Then frost hit a few weeks ago and killed whatever was leftover.
I went out to the garden a few days ago though and pulled out these delish things. I’m so excited! I planted them. Didn’t take care of them at all. Almost completely forgot about them and they still grew.
I think I’ll plant beets every year now. Super duper easy. And I can’t wait to roast ’em!
I decided to take my 13 year old (I know! When did I become old enough to have a teenager? Geez!) on a mother/son coffee date this week. I just feel the tension between us. And sometimes I feel as far apart as 2 people can be. Me with all the motherly and perfectionist instincts. He with his juvenile and boyish instincts.
Needless to say, there’s a lot of personality clashing going on. And this was fantastic. What a great way to break it up mid week and just have time for the 2 of us. I think we’re going to do it a little more often.
There’s nothing like the beauty of autumn. I’m soaking it in and the temperatures this week have been unseasonably warm and I love that!
I took a walk the other and the beauty just stops me. In my heart. It just makes me take a deep breath and give glory to God for the beautiful landscape he’s given us.

FABULOUS BOOK I’M READING RIGHT NOW
A few weeks ago I had an extremely challenging week. One that left me feeling lonely and defeated. I happened upon a post by my friend, Crystal Paine.
She wrote back and offered to send me this book, Rising Strong by Brene Brown for free. I was so touched to know someone cared. I’ve dived right in and I’m already a quarter way through the book.
BIG TAKE-AWAY
Failing and getting knocked down is a part of life. And even if I I’m failing there is courage in standing back up and not just rising but rising strong and helping others as they are down and out.
Quote from the book: “The truth is that Falling Hurts. The dare is to keep being brave and feel your way back up.
What are your thoughts on the fabulous finds this week?
