Welcome to week #8 of Friday’s Fabulous Finds. Where does the time go? Stick around for a little mommy lesson, what I’m looking forward to and a dress I’m eyeing up!
FABULOUS MOMENTS THIS WEEK
We sent these 2 off to retreat camp with our youth at church last weekend. They were really looking forward to this trip. And it was cool to hear their experiences. We prayed that it wouldn’t just be a time of fun but a time of spiritual growth. And it was. I couldn’t wait to hear everything they did over the weekend.
It seemed odd not having them around for a whole weekend. But we enjoyed the quieter moments with the little guy. He seemed to enjoy his alone time with Mom and Dad. Something that’s a rare commodity when there’s 3 kiddos.
Thanksgiving is just around the corner and I’m getting so excited about being with family for the day and just soaking up the conversation and gathering around the table together.
This guy, bless his little heart. He has to work so hard to get through a book. It such a struggle for him when he’s reading. He accidentally adds endings where he shouldn’t. He says wrong but similar words. It’s almost as if his mouth works faster than his brain.
As I watch and listen to him read it just reminds me of what courage and determination he has. It inspires me to work hard on these ‘life’ things that are worth fighting and being courageous for. So thankful for these little mom moments that God just speaks quietly to my soul about purpose and not giving up.

FABULOUS FOOD FINDS FOR THE NEXT GATHERING
Can you believe it’s peppermint time? I’ve already enjoyed my first peppermint mocha and it was amazing. So I just keep having pepperminty thoughts and after seeing this peppermint mocha dip from Crazy for Crust. I’m so zoned in!
Looking at this stuffing brings back all these tantalizing tastes. I’ve never made gluten free stuffing. But if I know anyone can rock out a good recipe it’s my girl Taylor from Food Faith Fitness. This looks like melt in my mouth heaven!
Pretzels, they’re my jam. Oh my goodness. I simply can’t resist a soft pretzel. Lovin’ these amazing everything pretzels from Joy the Baker.

Guess that’s not going to happen. But I think I’ll just figure out some other excuse to buy because I like just that much!
It’s available. Alta Dress – 3 Colors! – $20.99 from: Eleventh Avenue
I’m loving the cross necklaces from Groopdealz as well. You can Shop all the jewelry at Groopdealz here.
Thanksgiving is almost here and I just wanted to share about our brand new purchase. We’ve been talking about it for a while and saving our pennies. And we finally bought our first Turkey Fryer. I know. Fried food is bad for you BUT we bought this for more than just frying purposes.
It steams and boils as well. That means I can use it for canning which I just did a few weeks ago with applesauce. And we’ve already made crab legs. They were stinken awesome!
Well, we may actually get to fry our very first turkey. I can’t wait! Have you ever fried a turkey? And if so what are your thoughts? Do you really like.
FAVORITE BLOG POST FROM THIS WEEK
I’ve been following Jeff Goins for about 6-8 months now. His writing is influential. His advice spot on. I really enjoyed this blog post this week about building an audience. As someone with a blog I obviously have an audience. Most days that feels amazing. Other days I question that what I’m sharing is valuable and worthy of writing.
This post reminded me to stay true to myself. Ignore what everyone else is doing. Not in a sense of not supporting or not caring. But ignoring the comparison. If this blogger is doing it that way, that must be what I should do. This blogger is making leaps and bounds doing this, that must be the bandwagon to jump on.
In all of this I’m trying to stay true to my calling and the work that is set before me. I’m still in the process of reading his book to. I’m working at it slowly.
So what are you working on? I’d love to hear!
Thanks for being here friends!

Melanie – I’m with you – the Sur La Table bakeware is incredible! The baking sheets are the best I’ve ever found. I put Silpat sheets on them, wash them by hand, and would never dream of using anything but non-stick/non-metal utensils on them. They honestly look like I’ve only had them a week or two instead of almost a decade. Thanks for the link!
