Today is the perfect day to get the herb garden going. It’s that time of year when you feel inspired by the greens and the fresh earthy smells. I’m enticed to get back to my garden, get that soil dug up and plant fresh new things.
I love spring and have been growing herbs for several years now. Each year I enjoying planting my favorites and trying new ones. Last year I planted lemon balm and lavender for the first time. Some of my tried and true favorites are dill, thyme, oregano, rosemary, basil, and parsley.
There’s truly nothing like the feeling of growing your own herbs, vegetables, and fruits and bringing them straight in from the garden to the kitchen to enhance your favorite meals.
While at Target this week I picked up some fresh herbs to get the garden going. It was so pleasurable to finally purchase some herbs this spring, knowing that soon they would be a part of my meals, appetizers and more.
RITZ Crackers inspired me and I put together this quick bite to eat, goat cheese and dill cracker bites. Simplicity. RITZ Crackers topped with smooth and creamy goat cheese, cherry tomatoes and snips of my fresh dill.
I love goat cheese and I’ve learned it goes great with so many things. But the simplest and best way that I enjoy it is on a cracker with a few add-ons.
This recipe comes together quickly and is perfect to serve when guests arrive without notice or when hunger strikes and you want something simple and fresh.
Here’s another delightful way to serve a RITZ Cracker appetizer with fresh ingredients. And the kids will really enjoy the cuteness factor on this one!

- 2 tablespoons goat cheese
- 6 grape tomatoes
- Arrange crackers on a platter. Smear each cracker with 1 teaspoon of goat cheese. Top with one half grape tomato. Garnish with fresh dill
