Worry. What comes to mind when you think of that word? Is there a current situation you’re dealing with that is causing you anxiety? Are you looking for ways to stop worrying?
I’m going to take you straight to the bible. And yes, I know most of us have heard the verses of worry many more times than we can count. But just hang with me for a bit.
Matthew 6:25 NLT So I tell you, don’t worry about everyday life… There it is plain and simple, don’t worry.
Matthew 6:33 says Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. It should be our first priority to seek God’s will and live it out in our lives. It should be our central focal point. Everything else should orbit around God’s will.
Worry hinders the orbit. If we spend our time and brain power worrying it prevents our relationship with God from growing. As we dwell on our thoughts and our anxiousness it turns our eyes from Him. It turns into a ‘me’ world instead of God’s world.
However, if we take our worry and anxiety and give our cares to God (our center) it’s no longer a hindrance. It no longer blocks our central focus which is Jesus Christ.
In addition to that, we need to have thanksgiving on our hearts. Instead of being anxious we need to thankful and praise Him. Praise Him for everything good in your life. Praise Him for every past situation He has brought you through. Praise Him because he cared enough to send His son. Praise Him because He’s just and great and worthy of praise.
Once you begin to reflect on everything that’s good. It leaves little room in your mind for worry and doubt.
Phil 4:7 sums this up beautifully. (MSG) Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.
There it is. Your petitions and praises turn your worries into prayers.
Center your focus today.
Be blessed. Love ya,
Melanie

Thanks Taylor! I’m so glad you stopped by! It’s awesome to be able to connect with a network of faith believers online. I’m still trying to do that in the blogging world.

Do you have a large (regular paper size) maybe 8 x 10 original of this quote above by Mary Engelbreit? I would like to print it out, but when I copy it to Word and make it bigger its a bit blurry and not as clear.
thanks!

Sorry. I do not.
