Garlic Herb Butter -Recipe for creamy whipped butter with garden herbs like dill and parsley, garlic and onion. Perfect to slather on bread at every meal.
Pictured with my EASY PERFECT yeast bread.
By now you all probably know for a fact that I’m a huge bread fan. Hence the name of the blog. And the many many recipes. And I really don’t need any more reasons to love bread. But this one just made me do. It just made me like bread even more than I already did.
Seriously! I didn’t even know that was possible.
So a few weeks ago I was at one of my favorite stores. I think you’re familiar with it. It starts with a ‘C’ and ends with ‘OSTCO’. Are we on the same page? 😉
Anywho, I was given a free sample of some herb butter and it blew me away with its delightful taste. I turned to my daughter who was oohing and aahing as much as I was and declaring that I must make this for 2 reasons.

Reason #1. Downright delish. Nuff said.
Reason #2. Too darn expensive. No, I’m not paying $6.99 for 8 ounces of butter (or whatever crazy number it was). Thank you very much!
I’m a food blogger. Dag gone it. You just go home…straight to the kitchen…you don’t even stop for an apron and you get to work creating. I mean that’s completely normal, right?
You get your taste buds all happy and what else is there to do? Go make it yourself. Well, that’s the way I roll anyway.
This is one of a few times that I hit the nail on the head the very first time. I didn’t have to tweak anything. The first ingredients that went in were complimentary and tasty. It was a done deal on the first go round. I was a happy woman indeed.
Give this garlic herb butter a whirl. It’s simple and you’ll ‘wow’ the mouths of many.
I’m also thrilled to offer you this free jar printable for use with your garlic herb butter. Perfect to give as a hostess or holiday gift.

I love C-OSTCO and their samplings – but you are right – some of their stuff can be pricey! Besides, I’m willing to bet your homemade version was tastier than their Melanie! Your photos are gorgeous! And hey – have you tried their Lobster dip? If you came up with a copycat version, you might find me on your doorstep begging for a taste! 🙂
I make TONS of homemade yeast breads and rolls this time of year, and I think I just found my #1 spread for making them even more fun! This butter seriously looks AMAZING, Melanie! Love all that garlicky + herby goodness!
Hello: So much time went into making great photos, etc., for this recipe… but the recipe, itself, is terribly written. It calls for “8 ounces 1 stick unsalted butter.” What does this mean? Is it 8-oz. PLUS 1 stick? This should be simply written as “3 sticks.” Or is it 8-oz. OR 1 stick? Which doesn’t make sense, as 1 stick of butter is 4-oz not 8. I would love to make this recipe, as it looks so good, but I am unsure of the measurements. I hope you can correct/explain. Thanks!
Sorry about that Paul! It’s 1/2 cup or 1 stick of butter. Enjoy!
Was it re written after Paul’s comment? It clearly says 1/2 cup or 1 stick of butter…makes total sense. ???? I am making this TODAY! Sounds delish!
Do the herbs have to be fresh or could I use dried?
Dried would work fine as well. Enjoy.
