Ham Swiss Pesto Grilled Cheese – Layers of deli ham, Swiss cheese and pesto combine for a perfect lunch sandwich. Grilled cheese perfection with a twist.
Most days lunch is my favorite meal of the day. It’s not that I don’t love breakfast foods. I do. I just hate starting the day with a boatload of dirty dishes. Anyone agree with me on this one? It also means that I have to give up my morning sit still quiet time and cook and that’s not grand either.
What do I love though is lunch . Give me soup. Give me a salad. Give me sandwiches. I love ’em all. I could pretty much live at places like Panera Bread and Issac’s Deli. But alas most days I need to eat at home. So I love coming up with new little twists between my slices of bread.
This sandwich starts off with some good bread. Go with sourdough, ciabatta, traditional sandwich bread or even some slices of this easy yeast bread.
Layer on some good deli ham. I prefer to use one without nitrates but go with whatever you’ve got.
Add on some nice Swiss cheese. I pretty much love all varieties of Swiss including Heidi Ann, Lacey.
Smear on a good dose of Pesto. If you happen to have some homemade that’s even better. but if you don’t that’s a-ok too.
If you like pesto and grilled cheese I guarantee you’ll really enjoy this Ham Provolone Pesto Grilled Cheese. Happy grilling!
Til we meet and eat again,
