In case you don’t know me by now. You know… maybe this is your first visit. Maybe it’s your 10th visit. Maybe you’ve been visiting from the beginning but you still didn’t catch on. I’ll let you in on this little secret.
Chocolate and banana is one of THE world’s best combos EVER. Seriously. Without a doubt. I simply can’t resist it. Here’s proof:
- Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins
- Banana Coconut Chocolate Chip Pancakes
- Banana Fudge Cookies
- Banana Peanut Butter Chocolate Smoothie with Oats
- Chocolate Banana Popsicles
That’s not even all. There’s more!
It’s proof that it really is a true love. So, tell me! What’s one of your favorite food combinations? Sweet. Salty. Savory. It doesn’t matter. I’m just curious.
This banana bread is not only delicious but it’s healthy. I’ve subbed out some of the butter for applesauce. This allows the bread to be moist without the unwanted fat. Win!
It’s also made with all whole wheat flour. But you can’t even tell. That’s the best part. Win (2)!
Til we meet and eat again,

This is perfect timing! I knew I wanted to make banana bread this week, that’s why I’m trying to brown my bananas in a card board box since I don’t have a brown paper bag 🙂
Hi Melanie,
I was craving banana chocolate chip muffins and came across your recipe for this banana bread and thought I’d try it instead. I’m so happy that I did, it’s delicious, the best banana bread I’ve ever had! I switched the sugars in the recipe around and used 1/2 c of brown sugar and 1/4 cup of xylitol (as I didn’t have raw or organic sugar). And added just a few more chocolate chips, as I love chocolate 🙂 I ate 2 large pieces while it was still warm from the oven, it just melted in my mouth, yummy! I’m really looking forward to exploring your site and finding some more new delicious recipes to try. Thanks for sharing!!
