Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 12-inch round rimmed pizza pan with nonstick spray; set aside.
In a medium mixing bowl, melt butter in microwave safe bowl. Let cool.
Add sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Combine and stir for about 1 minute. Add cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir until fully combined, about 50 strokes. Don't overmix. Spread batter onto prepared pan.
Bake in preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Do not overcook. Remove from oven and place on a cooling rack.
Meanwhile, combine softened cream cheese and powdered sugar. Beat together for about 2 minutes, until smooth.
Spread evenly over the cooled brownie pie.
Carefully spoon cherry pie filling over the cream cheese layer.
Refrigerate until serving. Let sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes before slicing. Slice into wedges and enjoy.
