Peanut butter combined with krispies and chocolate to make delicious copycat Luna bars, Nuts Over Chocolate. With ONLY 6 ingredients these delicious bars are the perfect pickup me for breakfast or afternoon snack.
I’m here to admit. Fully admit. I have gotten into this horrible lazy breakfast habit. It’s called…..wait for it….
Granola bars, energy bars, protein bars. I don’t care what you call them. But they’re GOOD and easy. Did I mention they’re easy? Oh my goodness.
Here’s me in the morning. ‘Hmm….I’m totally in the mood for french toast. I should make some. Nah. I don’t feel like dirty dishes.’
‘Oh wait. I should make banana chocolate chip pancakes. Nah, I don’t feel like dirty dishes.” What is my ever lovin’ problem? Seriously! You can’t be a mom of 3 children and expect to avoid dishes. It just doesn’t happen. But I guess in my mind I’m thinking ‘Well, there can at least be less dishes if I don’t cook a big breakfast.’ So I revert to granola bars.
Sad? Not so much if you like peanut butter and chocolate If I make a whole pan of these bars they’ll last me a week. Well, that’s if I don’t have share. Did I mention about the kids? Yeah, then they don’t last a week. But I can and do occasionally hide them just for mom and then I’m good for breakfast for the whole week.
Set. Done. Woo-hoo!
Just get a load of that chocolate and peanut butter. I know you’re thinking the same thing. Yup. Where can you hide them? Well I can help you with that. I have this small space in my closet for whenever friends need a place to hide their goodies. I won’t tell a soul that they’re here. 🙂
VERDICT: I loved these bars. They don’t taste exactly like the Luna bars but it’s a satisfying, much cheaper alternative. I’ll definitely be making often!
Til we meet and eat again friends,
xo

Dirty dishes can be such a buzz kill sometimes! 🙂
But – I would clean up any dirty dishes if I could get my hands on some of these 6 ingredient bars – with PB and chocolate – 2 of my favorite flavors! Thanks so much for shairing Melanie!
xx
I must agree. The dishes are worth it for these. PB and chocolate has to be one of the world’s best combos. Never get enough!

My thoughts exactly Marcie!
I’ve never tried a Luna Bar but guess what? After this post I love them! Especially as I can now make my own … mmmm!
Hope you find the time to make them. They’re amazing!
I am the same way about dishes! 🙂 I’m nuts over these bars…they include all my favorites! Want.
So good to know that I’m not the only one! 🙂
These look totally amazing! And since you’re still actually eating something homemade, I think you’re definitely ahead of me. We’ve been in a cereal or toast rut for some time! But we LOVE homemade granola bars!
I get in ruts all the time. Did I mention I hoard these and the kids still eat cereal. I’m such a prize worthy mother. JK. They adore cereal for some reason. 🙂
I could munch on these bars all day long! Love it!
You and me both! 🙂
I love making homemade granola bars, I’ll have to try out this version soon! These look delicious, just like Luna bars. Pinned!

I’ve been with you here lately when it comes to breakfast, just grab and go. But the nut bars look fantastic. I have no problem with peanut butter and chocolate for breakfast.

I hate dirty dishes but love my dish washer :0). What I can’t stand is doing laundry. And umm, yes, these bars are amazing
These sound great!
copycat Luna bars?!!! oh my gawd, can’t wait to try these!!! yumm!
My two-year-old is really into granola bars right now, I bet she’d LOVE these!
Hi there ~ I just made these, with a slight alteration. I used two cups all-natural cocoa krispy cereal and one cup of peanut butter Puffins. Instead of the oats, I used chopped peanuts, to truly replicate the Nutz Over Chocolate bar from Luna. They look awesome! They are chilling in the freezer, and I am sure my kids will gobble them up for snacks tomorrow.
Great add-ins. Hope the family enjoyed them Dorina! So glad you took the time to write. 🙂
