Hey Friends and “Hello” Friday!
Even though January is cold and boring it’s zipping right on by. As I keep focused and busy on my dreams and goals it seems to be going well.
1.Workout Routine
My workout goal/routine for January is 2 days cardio for 30-45 minutes AND 2 days strength training for 30-45 minutes. So far, so good. Crushing that goal! I love Beachbody on Demand for working out right here in the comfort of my home. I’ve been enjoying a mixture of Core de Force (for cardio) and P90X (for strength).☺
For the past 12 years, I’ve been pretty good about working out multiple times a week. But this goal is more about making sure I’m fitting in the strength training. With running so much last year I lost focus on the strength aspect and I want to gain that back. What’s your workout routine look like for January?
2. My teens made us dinner on Tuesday. They made some delish stovetop mac and cheese and fried chicken. (I had to let them choose or else I might divert them from ever cooking!)
This is something new that I’m trying to implement. At least once a month they cook and prepare the meal for the family. After all, these are every day life skills they’ll need in the future.
I was pretty impressed with how they did. If only I had remembered to take a picture. I took a video but…no picture. Sad momma now.
3. It’s been bitter cold here once again but I think that streak is about to break. In the meantime, I’m bundling up every time I go outdoors. This hat keeps me so warm plus I love how fun and stylish it is.
4. We got another snow here in Central PA and the kids got an early dismissal as well as an entire day off. They’re getting so spoiled that I’m not sure they even know what a full week of school looks like. ???? I’m thankful that my boys are old enough to shovel the driveway for us now. What a blessing.
5. My youngest who is 9 has to work on reading 4 different books of the bible this year. He has been doing excellent and I’m so proud of him. You see; he’s been struggling with reading every since he first started learning to read. And he’s always had to have extra help.
It does a mommas’ heart good to see progress and he has come so far. He’s reading full chapters and only struggling with a few words. I love hearing him read!
6. One of the dinners I made this week was Slow Cooker Butter chicken. (While I know this is a terrible picture it was just a quick Instagram story that I shared.)
My husband and I thought it was delicious. Some of the kids weren’t huge fans but I would definitely make it again in the future.
7. Looks like I have some reading to catch up, eh? These all arrived in the mailbox on the same day! Incredible. Which one would you open and read first? Maybe alphabetical. Perhaps clockwise. ????
A few of these you can grab for only $5 right now.
8. I ???? Aldi. Have you ever shopped there? I can score some great deals on produce and here are some of this week’s finds for cheap. And heck did you know they sell sushi? How awesome is that for us sushi lovers!
I hope your headed into a weekend of restfulness. I’m taking my youngest to his semi-finals for Junior Bible Quiz and we’re visiting friends on Sunday. Enjoy your weekend!
Til we meet and eat again,
