Hello green goodness! I adore you. This smoothie rocks for multiple reasons.
1. I love it. It has green goodness in it that I have a hard time eating some days. But in this smoothie it’s just delicious. And I don’t even taste the spinach.
9. It’s super easy.
4. It’s so great that even my kids drink it with ease and tell me it’s delicious. So, now you know why this rocks. My kids are gulping down spinach and asking for more.
What’s not to love?
See. It’s so easy, I forgot how to count. Did you notice? Or did you just scroll back and check my numbering skills. Haha. I’m a dweeb. I admit it. 🙂
In all seriousness though. How often can you get your kids to eat green veggies like spinach and ask for more? Really! Not often in mine. But I think we’re on a new trend here in the new year. Yay!
Are you on a diet/watching calories this January? This is fitting in my January just perfectly.
Blessings and love,
Melanie

Mel's Green Smoothie

- 1/2 cup pineapple
- 1 cup vanilla soy milk*
- 1 cup of ice
*You may use any milk but the vanilla adds extra flavor.
Instructions
- Blend all ingredients in blender.
*Note use a Vitamix. I was never able to acheive the smooth results I wanted until I got a Vitamx.
Ok, you’ve convinced me… green smoothie time baby! I mean it just looks delicious girl! I might try it with almond milk though and see it tastes. 🙂 Pinning and sharing on social media! Thanks for an awesome smoothie recipe Melanie!
Thanks Krista! Glad I could convince you! Let us know if you try it. So happy you stopped by.
I love green smoothies! And I’m glad to hear that you recommend your Vitamix. My cheap blender that I’ve had for about 7 years broke over the holidays and I’ve been looking for a new one. My only reservation about the Vitamix is the cost. Price doesn’t usually influence my decision when it comes to kitchen tools but it is a big investment. I make smoothies/milkshakes, etc a lot but I don’t see myself using it multiple times a day or even once a day so I’m not sure what to buy. Which model do you own?
Trust me. I had a really hard time parting with the cash for the Vitamix. It’s very expensive. But my husband said yes, if I would agree that it was my Christmas gift for this year so I said yes immediately. I’ve been challenging myself to use it daily. And it really has been easy since I start most my days with smoothies. We’ve also used for soup, frappes, milkshakes etc.
I decided to go with a model from QVC. It’s the 6000. They were offering it on Today’s Special back in November with free shipping and a significant discount. So I’ve had it for almost 2 months now. I just checked and it has excellent reviews from customers.
It was definitely a hard decision for us because we are so frugal. But so far I don’t regret it! I’ve heard good things about some of the larger Ninjas. But this time I knew I wanted the real deal. So hopefully it will be going strong 10 years from now!
Stopping by from Show Stopper Saturday. Had to come check out your smoothie – I got a Ninja kitchen system for Christmas, and my son and I are on a smoothie kick. Will definitely give it a try. Have pinned!
I hope you do give it a try. A Ninja…awesome Christmas gift. If you think of it come back and let us know what you think. Thanks for stopping by Erin!
I love green smoothies and this one sounds awesome especially after all the heavy and indulgent treats I had over the holidays. I would love to get either a Vitamix or Blendtech so glad to hear the great review on the Vitamix:) Thanks for sharing and Happy New Year Melanie!
Thanks Kelly! They’re definitely pricey but I’ve been very pleased. Happy New Year. So glad you stopped by!
I’ve honestly never had a green smoothie before… but I see them popping up all over the place on food blogs in the past week. I think it’s time to dive into this. I love your version of adding pineapple and grapes. Pinning 🙂
You are missing out! I haven’t had one until this past year either. I had a small Ninja and it was terrible with greens. Now that I have a Vitamix I’ve been loving it! Hope you give it a try and come back and let me know your thoughts. The vanilla soy milk really gives it great flavor.
I love the addition of grapes! This sounds so yummy. Can’t wait to try it!
I hope you enjoy it! Thanks for stopping by Jen!
Your photos are gorgeous and I love this smoothie too! I make mine almost exactly the same way. I love how the pineapple sweetens it up and masks the taste of the spinach. I just bought a bag of greens today so I can make this for tomorrow’s breakfast!
Thanks Allie! I need to get some more greens. I’m all out. Hope you get to try it for breakfast!
Yay, my go-to version is really similar to this one. It’s delicious, isn’t it? Though yours look 87978 times more gorgeous, the color’s great! I love the pineapple addition too, it makes wonderful drinks.
Good luck with the fasting dear. I’m sure you’ll do great! x
Very much indeed. I’m so glad I can drink spinach and enjoy it! Thanks for our kind words!
Does.it matter if it is canned pineapple? And is this something I can make the night before? Or is it best fresh?
Definitely best fresh. I’ve never made it the night before. But even putting in the fridge for several ours made it too ‘soupy’ with the ice and frozen banana. I would say canned should taste fine. Just make sure it’s drained. Good luck!
This smoothie looks really incredible Melanie! I love the addition of grapes – so fun! Just added this to a smoothie round-up I’m putting together for next week. Thanks for sharing!
Cool. So glad to connect with you online Trish. I love your blog! Thanks for including it in the round up. I look forward to seeing what else you share. 😉
I had to come back and share with you that I finally got around to making this smoothie this week and I am so addicted to it!! I knew Wes would like it, and I was right; so I’ve been making it in the mornings after I get back from the gym and I drink a glass and send a cup with him when he leaves for work. This morning I made the kids try it, and the boys absolutely loved it and are begging for me to make more, while Gwen just turned her nose up at it. That’s okay, 3 out of 4 is good : ) I just know I’m going to have a hard time keeping the ingredients around for this delicious-ness!
That’s so awesome Debby. I’m so happy to hear that. I actually made as an afternoon snack for my kids the other day and they too were asking for more. It thrills my heart when they want more ‘veggies’.
