Life can be such a mess. Sometimes one right after the other. Sometimes one or two in the midst of another. Everywhere you turn it’s there.
Kids sick. Clock ticks.
Gotta get to the stores. Dirty floors.
Tomatoes galore. Knock on the door.
Unanswered emails. Fridge fails.
Expectations. Situations.
When I get through these messes. Guess what? There will be more. I’ll never get away from it all but there is a way to get through it all.
PERSEVERANCE
Perseverance is described by Merriam Webster as continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failure, or opposition by
That’s what I aim to do. When life hands me messes. I’m gonna keep going. I’m gonna push through.
I know the enemy wants nothing more than to take me down. But I’m not going to let him. I will stand strong and stand firm.
Elvis Presley once said, “When things go wrong, don’t go with them.” That’s what I choose to do.
Don’t let your mind go with them. Persist.
From MESS to MESSAGE.
God always delivers a message to me in my messes. Every single time.
I may come out on the other side with thankfulness.
Wisdom
Humbleness
Love
Appreciation
But there’s always a message behind every mess. Just find it. Today it was appreciation. I appreciate the beauty in the little things. The beauty of God’s creation.
Today I found this beautiful butterfly on my deck in the midst of my crazy week. Being able to capture a photo of it just made my day!
What hidden message was revealed through your recent mess? What was God trying to show you?
I’d love for you to share with me.
A fellow MESSister,
Melanie
It’s so funny how you had this on your blog Mel….. I was just at my MOPS group and this year’s theme is the “Beautiful Mess”. And they were saying that no matter where you are in life, especially as a mom, everyone has messes and no one is perfect. I struggle with not having everything together and always think there are so many moms out there who do have it all together. I’m wondering how a mess can be “beautiful”? Hoping that I’ll learn more about this subject as the MOPS year continues. It’s just so interesting how your post caught my eye soon after coming home from MOPS, with my mind on messy lives. I guess God wants me to learn something on this subject. Thanks for the post Mel…. gives me some more food for thought.
That’s so awesome Emily. And it’s so cool when God confirms things for us. It lets me know how much he cares. Plain and simple – My life is a mess most of the time but I love it in the midst of it all. Thanks for reading!
I feel like my life is a mess a lot also so it’s good to know there are other moms who feel the same. I’ve been realizing the importance of prioritizing and not letting circumstances affect my life and relationships with God and my family. Finding God’s message in life’s messes is a great way to communicate with Him. Thanks for the message! 🙂
I agree. We’re not in it alone. People may look like they have it all together but everyone has their messes. Thanks for reading!
