Dear Shelley: Your Recipes look wonderful for people who know how to cook and know where to find Goat Cheese. I live in the Mountains of the Sierras in California, and I don’t know how to boil water. I have never been a cook and have never succeeded in any cooking of any kind (my husband is cooking for us 6 times a week and we eat out once a week) – (a lot of times when he is tired, I make a TV dinner for myself). Whatever I attempted to make fresh were flops.
In April, I am planning to have a Tea Party for my friend who will be turning 95. I need to make some sandwishes that are very easy for about 12 to 18 women (I don’t know yet the exact number – I just sent out the invitations); I cannot find a Caterer to do what I need, I am still looking; but if I must, i thought I’d make: 1) Cucumber sandwishes 2) Egg salad sandwishes 3)Turkey & Tomato sandwishes 4) Ham, Cheddar Cheese & Sour Cream sandwishes, plus Your Strawberry Salad, only I don’t know where to get the Gouda Bowls, or the Poppyseed. Finding Goat Cheese is also out of the question. I am looking online for a place nearby that would make the scones & the petit fours. But I still haven’t found that. I came upon your website by accident. I have lots and lots of teas and teapots and cups & saucers & spoons, plus the three of the 3-tier platters, so as far as the material is concerned, I am ready. I need the simple recipes for the sandwishes which I plan on doing myself, the night before. I would like to practice by making one of each sandwish for me and my husband. Can you please help me with very simple, simple recipes for those 4 sandwishes?
